Reusable Swiffer Cover

After some research as well as trial and error, I've finally managed to come up with a swiffer cover pattern. Yay! Please keep in mind that this pattern will also fit on the Swiffer Wet Jet, but it will cover up the spray nozzles. I no longer purchase the swiffer cleaning liquids. I use a bleach cleaning spray instead. So it works out just fine for me.

So here it is...

Tools:
- less than 1 ball of 100% cotton yarn (I used Lily Sugar 'n Cream)
- H hook (5.00mm)
- yarn needle
- scissors

Abbreviations:
ch(s) = chain(s)
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
fpdc = front post double crochet
bpdc = back post double crochet
st(s) = stitch(es)
sl st = slip st

Pattern:
Ch 57 (You want it to measure 15 inches, so if your tension is tighter or looser than mine, you might need to change your amount of chs.)
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each ch across. (55 dc)
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, dc in next 8 sts, fpdc around next st, *dc in next st, fpdc around next st*, repeat from * to * 18 times, dc in next 9 sts.
Row 3: Ch 2, turn, dc in next 8 sts, bpdc around next st, *dc in next st, bpdc around next st*, repeat from * to * 18 times, dc in next 9 sts.
Row 4: Repeat row 2.
Row 5: Repeat row 3.
Row 6: Repeat row 2.
Row 7: Repeat row 3.
Row 8: Repeat row 2.
Row 9: Repeat row 3.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Fold end over so that sts 1-9 overlap sts 10-18. Insert hook in both sts (sts 9 and 10) at beginning, sc over both sts and in next 8 overlapped sts, sc in next 19 sts, fold over other end and sc over next 9 overlapped sts. Fasten off and weave in ends. Rotate work to opposite site and repeat this process (flaps will already be overlapped), ensuring that you sc over 9 times over the 18 overlapping sts.

I know the end of the pattern can be kind of confusing, so if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. :)

I hope you enjoy this Go Green! pattern.
